My South Dakota roots
My name is Heidi Hora and I’m running for District 19 House of Representative. I've been shaped by many blessings in my life: growing up on a South Dakota farm with a loving family, marrying my husband, having my daughter, and running a family-owned mechanic and tire shop that specializes in ag tires.
Why I am running for District 19
I don't have all the answers, and I have a lot to learn. But I go forth with one goal: I want my daughter and her generation to know the South Dakota I grew up in. One where hard work gives people the freedom to create a safe and comfortable life for themselves and their families.
Overcoming life's challenges
But I've also been shaped by challenges: having a life-altering heart attack caused by a blood clot at 35, watching multiple family members overcome learning disabilities, and operating an agriculture dependent business in a volatile agriculture economy.
